Frequently Asked Questions

I can’t imagine you work in the winter - do you?

We don’t work in weather below 0 degrees. However, we do work year-round - including winter. We dress for the weather and use special anti-freeze in our water. Winter is a great time to continue getting your windows cleaned because a lot of windows, especially storefronts, get extra dirty from snow blowing/shoveling, which can include salt and/or street grime.

What if it is raining?

Our crews work rain or shine! Most buildings offer enough protection of the glass to allow us to continue window cleaning. Additionally, we can often start on the insides, or do insides only, and by the time we complete that, the rain could let up to complete the outsides. You can reschedule if the weather takes a turn, or something comes up and you won’t be around the let the crew in. However, you may have to wait days/weeks to get scheduled again, as we like to schedule 3-4 weeks in advance. Lastly, clean windows repel rain streaks - it is the dirt on the window that causes raindrop streaks.

Do I need to supply water? Do you purify your water?

Our crew brings water to every job. We do not purify our water, because we don’t need to. Some videos online show window washers using excess amounts of water by hosing everything down. We have a wet wand with solution to wet/clean the windows, then we use top-quality squeegee rubbers to leave behind a streak-free clean! Minimal water drips onto the sills gets wiped away.

How often should I get my windows cleaned?

There are several factors that affect the frequency one should get their windows cleaned, but ultimately it is up to you! Storefronts and chain/franchise restaurants get a lot of foot traffic, so we typically service those customers weekly, or every other week. A large portion of our clients we service monthly. If it is a larger building or not super close to a main road, we service them quarterly or twice a year. Churches or other non-profit buildings, we typically service annually. Residential homes are typically serviced twice a year or once annually. Just like regular car or lawn maintenance - your windows need regular maintenance.

How long does the window cleaning take?

There are several factors that affect the time it takes to clean windows. The size of a job, number of windowpanes, or type of windows are the biggest determinators of how long a job will take. Some of our route work we are able to send just one guy. However, on the bigger jobs, we have sent up to six guys out. We take into consideration several things before sending a crew out.
